She \u00a0lived in Melbourne since 1962. By profession an adult educator, who was increasingly specialised in the writing and reading of poetry, she worked with many writing groups around Victoria.\u00a0<em>Coming Up for Light<\/em>\u00a0(1994) won the Mary Gilmore Award for best Australian first book of poetry, and was shortlisted for the Anne Elder and Victorian Premier\u2019s awards.
